Mark Strauss

Dr. Mark Strauss currently works as a Director of School Performance and Accountability for Broward County Public Schools where he supports and supervises 15 Elementary Principals and serves as the liaison between the district’s schools and the City of Fort Lauderdale. Mark previously served as Principal of a public Montessori Magnet School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence under his leadership. He has been named Broward County Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year, was a finalist for State of Florida Principal of the Year, and was named Distinguished Educator by the University of Florida. He has taught as an adjunct professor in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University and has also taught at Barry University. Additionally, he served as a Commissioner and the Chairperson of the Florida Education Practices Commission.

Mark holds a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College (SUNY), a Master degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
